She's a little flirty. She does not stay around long. For me, this ends up being pretty much a skin scent, and a very average one at that. I see this was apparently discontinued at some point and brought back reformulated. Why do companies do that? Why not just create a new name for the obvious new fragrance? Perhaps this was reformulated when brought back, hence the apparent different notes and viewpoints in the reviews. I just gather that perhaps this has been reformulated or tweaked since this was apparently "discontinued" and brought back.
Starts off a little tropical, but those notes fade fast, becoming sort of an 'ordinary, average, everyday' perfume. The entire scent fades not much long after the "tropical" scent does. If you were thinking this might be a good beachy scent, imo, it is at best an average, everyday scent that fades within an hour. This is a lovely, if average, very basic skin scent. Soft, delicate, nothing screechy. Sure, it's name "Rio de Janeiro" implies summer sun and frolic, but after the fun and playful opening notes dry down, this becomes a very safe, pretty average, inoffensive fragrance.
Nothing outstanding nor remarkable, as none of the notes seem to screech or compete for the spotlight, but just a soft, inviting scent. In short, once this dries down, it becomes an average, but lovely and quite nice, fragrance. One final note, this vaguely reminds me of another 'summer scent' I purchased long ago, Kate Spade's Live Colorfully.
If you like this, I would check out Live Colorfully, especially if you want better longevity and more projection. While they are not exact "dupes," I feel they are in the same vein, imho. To me, this is sort of Live Colorfully's softer, delicate little sister Green, jasmine-y cigarette smoke not tobacco, actual smoke.
I don't like it. Jan Katssya I had the chance to buy Rio a couple of weeks a go at the mexico airport duty free and i didn't take it. Now i regret it since it is discontinued and extremely hard to find. It was a great fruity tropical sweet but classy summer fragrance. Rio was so different then the others.
I don't like the original since it is too similar to Kim Kardashian Spoke to a Micheal Kors representative yesterday and she told me that they will launch a new coral edition that is going to be similar to Rio in late november or early december.
Can't wait to smell it: I bought it online since it is discontinued and i can not find it anywhere else, i really hope the smell will be the same has a remember
